Do I need to sign a contract before my photoshoot?
A.Yes, all photoshoots are required to have a contract signed before the start of the session as this protects both myself as the photographer and you as the client.
This step is very important and I will not photoshoot anyone without a signed contract even if you are a model (model release form required).
Why do your prices say "starting at"?
A.Everybody is different and sometimes what is desired from a photoshoot varies as well.
My packages are starting at a minimum price because sometimes clients want more pictures and/or extra time added on. Also, travel fees and studio fees are added to the base price mentioned above. Full investment to be discussed at the time of inquiry once I know what is required of the photoshoot!
Do you require a deposit to secure my booking?
A.Yes! I require a 25% non-refundable deposit of the total session fee after you have booked your appointment through my booking link that I will send you. Instructions are provided through the booking link. Deposit will be taken off of the total amount which is due upon the day of photoshoot.
What forms of payment do you accept?
A.Credit cards and e-transfers are acceptable forms of payment.
Do you do hair and makeup?
A.No, you are responsible for having your own hair and makeup done before you arrive to your photoshoot (or you can go natural if you would prefer).
What if it rains or is expected to rain on the day of my photoshoot?
A.Be prepared by bringing an umbrella as we can't control Mother Nature (we do live near Raincouver after all). Photoshoots can actually be really fun in the rain and turn out to be beautiful.
Do I need to bring anything to my photoshoot?
A.Props are encouraged such as hats, jackets, etc. but you aren't expected to bring anything else with you unless requested by the photographer.
Will you travel to Vancouver Island for photoshoots?
A.Yes, I love doing photoshoots on the island! There will be an extra travel and accommodation fee added on though.
What should I wear to my photoshoot?
A.Unless specified otherwise, just wear something that you feel confident and comfortable in! Neutral colours, denim, and black always work best (no bold patterns). Try to coordinate if you are doing a photoshoot with other people.
Will you have a second shooter?
A.No, I am currently the only employee of Nataya Defert Photography.
